Practicing the way of Jesus together, in Bakersfield.

A Church of House Churches

We are a network of House Churches that gather on Sunday in houses across the city, and every first Sunday of the month, all River & Way House Churches meet together. We are birthed out of a conviction around church being a place for people to belong to one another, to be rooted deeply in the Christian tradition, challenged towards maturity in discipleship to Jesus, and be empowered to practice righteousness and justice in our city.

We want to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.

What is a House Church?

House Churches are the primary way we gather together as a community of followers of Jesus on most Sundays. These small, simple gatherings are centered around a shared meal together, communion, prayer, worship, and the reading of the Scriptures.

Visit an “All Gathering”

All House Churches gather collectively on the first Sunday of the month for communion, worship, teaching, fellowship, and a meal. We currently meet at Westside Church (7300 Stockdale Hwy.) on the First Sunday of the month in the evenings at 4:30p

Midweek Discipleship

We offer the option to gather midweek for discipleship classes for adults, students, and kids. These seasonal classes happen in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to grow deeper in our discipleship to King Jesus. The first Midweek starts in the Fall of 2023.
