Midweek Discipleship

Midweek Discipleship Fall of 2023

Our primary way of gathering is as House Churches. Yet, while House Church creates a beautiful opportunity for doing life together, it is not necessarily a highly conducive “learning” environment. Midweek Discipleship is a space for Adults, students, and kids to have an intentional age-specific space to grow spiritually and practice their trust in Jesus. The rhythm of Midweek is seasonal, and we hope to have available classes and practices in the Fall and Spring. Here is what’s happening this season:

ADULTS DISCIPLESHIP CLASS

The Practice of Prayer: Pursuing a deeper life of union with God.

Thursday Evening from 6:15-7:45 PM

A five-week class from September 21st to October 19th

We will be pressing into the spiritual practice of prayer through Practicing the Way. One of the overwhelming areas we as a community named to mature in was the area of prayer. Prayer is simply the medium through which we communicate and commune with God, and God communicates and communes with us. The practice of prayer is learning to set aside dedicated time to intentionally be with God, to become like him, and to partner with Him in the world. The midweek class focusing on prayer will be a community-driven practice that will include a short teaching video, breaks for discussion, weekly spiritual exercises, recommended reading, and additional resources to help us create life-changing daily rhythms as we apprentice under Jesus together.

KIDS

Kid Care is available from infant to 6th grade (7th-12th grade info below), running simultaneously with the Prayer Practice. When you register for the Midweek class, you can also register kids there.

STUDENT DISCIPLESHIP CLASS

7th-12th Grade  - Alpha Youth

Thursday Evenings from 6:15-7:45 PM

A nine-week class from September 21st to November 16th

Alpha Youth is a structured series of conversations about God, life, faith, and purpose. It is designed to be a way to begin to engage with core beliefs about the Christian faith in a non-threatening way. Alpha is a 9-week long course that seeks to engage students' hearts and minds toward meaning and purpose in life. Learn more about Alpha Youth here.

Our desire is to utilize Alpha Youth toward the beginning launch of a regular youth space for 7th-12th grade students. With that, Alpha is highly missional, and with it being conversation-based is best when there are 10+ students participating. If we do not reach this number of students, then we will host a youth space for this age range for the same five weeks as the adult class on prayer and wait to launch Alpha Youth at another time.
