Monthly Update

Next All Gathering: 4:30 PM Sunday, September 7th at Westside Church (7300 Stockdale Hwy) for our regular rhythm of worship, prayer, and teaching and taking the Bread & Cup as House Church communities. 

As always, we look forward to spending time as a community around the table after our gathering. We'll be in the gym for the meal that evening. Please feel welcome to stick around for dinner and enjoy some tacos🌮! ($5 per person, with a max of $20 per family to help cover costs).

At our next All Gathering on September 7, we’re starting something new for our 2nd–5th graders. At our All Gatherings, we’ve already had kids church for nursery through 1st grade, and this is an exciting step in extending that to our older kids as well. Also, just a reminder that our grades will be promoted up at the next All Gathering, so kids will move into their new age groups.

Here’s what it will look like:

• Kids will be with everyone in the sanctuary for the first part of worship.

• During the “5 Minute” greeting time, they’ll head to the back of the sanctuary to meet our Kids Coordinator, Jada Boonstopple.

• From there, they’ll go to a room right next to the gym for a short lesson and activity.

A couple things to know:

• Kids will need a check-in tag when you arrive. The check-in kiosk is just outside the nursery we usually use.

• Pick-up after the gathering will be from inside the gym, as there is a door to the classroom from there. Once picked up, kids can rejoin us for dinner.

• If your child would rather stay in the gathering with you, that’s totally fine too.

We’re thankful to be able to give our kids room to learn, and be shaped as disciples too.

The Tuesday Night Ministry meets every Tuesday evening outdoors on the grounds of The Mission at Kern County, 816 East 21st Street. This ministry began over 30 years ago at one church, but God has turned it into a Body of Christ ministry with multiple churches and groups involved. A short message begins at 6:30 PM with dinner set up and serving beginning at 7:00 PM. Everyone is invited to serve, including families with children. We are also looking for those called to do worship from 6:00-6:30 PM on those evenings.

Be aware that we will be outdoors from 6:30-8:00 PM, so dress accordingly.
