As we move into the Lenten season of the church calendar we want to begin to prepare for Easter, the pinnacle of the year when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Lent starts with Ash Wednesday on March 2nd. 

This year we are going to enter into Lent by inviting our church family to participate in a gathering on Ash Wednesday held by our friends at Trinity Anglican Church at 7:00 PM. They also have a 12:00 PM service if you can’t make the 7:00 PM. 

This gathering is an opportunity to recognize our own humanity, while we look toward Easter to celebrate Jesus as our one true hope. This liturgical gathering will include the reading of Scripture, prayer, and the invitation to receive the mark of ashes on one’s forehead. This is an annual practice to remind ourselves both of repentance and our own mortality, as the Scriptures say “all are from dust, and to dust we all return.”

***As of now at Trinity Anglican Church, masks are still required for adults and children as we participate in the gathering. No childcare will be provided.
